**About the** **new role**
The Lifecycle Solutions and Innovation (LSI) team is responsible for developing and deploying state-of-the-art HVAC system controls and building level lifecycle solutions, digital-enabled services with data analytics, fault detection and diagnostics, healthy building solutions, integrated energy management system and breakthrough technologies that are used by Carrier HVAC, Refrigeration and Energy system solution development team and service team for Carrier’s intelligent climate and energy system innovation, operation and maintenance. Product Data Analytics team is a sub-engineering group within LSI team.
As a Staff Data Analytics Engineer, you will serve as a vital member and be responsible for the cost-effective innovative solution concept generation and development for HVAC and energy system and component diagnostics, RUL prediction, prognostics and health management based on the business needs, and support the technology roadmap development to accelerate the service and aftermarket business growth and differentiate Carrier’s intelligent climate and energy solutions, to explore frontier analytics technologies for differentiated physics-guided AI/ML analytics algorithms.
+ Experienced expert of SRDC Lifecycle Solutions and Innovation team in Shanghai with the responsibilities stated below. He will develop and execute technology roadmaps, in collaboration with other Carrier engineering teams globally.
+ Senior technical leader for physics-guided AI/ML analytics algorithms, especially in vibration and noise signal assisted diagnosis, providing technical guidance and oversight of engineers working on the related projects.
+ Project leader for projects under local Passport / TRL processes.
**Key Responsibilities:**
As a Staff Engineer, she or he will be responsible for:
+ Provide expertise in diagnostics, prognostics and health management (PHM) area and develop advanced data analytics algorithms for HVAC components and integrated energy systems.
+ Develop the strategy, roadmap and new projects for HVAC PHM area through the closely collaboration with the service and aftermarket team.
+ Preferred to be familiar with vibration and noise analysis method, heat transfer, thermodynamics and thermal management system analysis in the development of next generation high efficiency and environmentally friendly HVAC/R and energy systems.
+ Lead the project execution to ensuring on-time and high-quality deliverables by defining project milestones and deliverables, design and conduct qualification testing in labs to make sure the business impact delivered and quantified to the service and product development team.
+ Establish standard work for system products, which include product specifications, technical manuals, system selling tools, white papers, training materials, etc.
+ Maintains constant communication with other Carrier engineering, manufacturing, and quality team members, as well as frequent communication with commercial team, customers, and upper management.
+ Support all QRB/TRL review meetings to ensure proper company-wide attendance, adherence to company tooling standards, documentation control, and coordination of follow-up activities.
+ Actively participate with marketing and distribution teams in new program development and cost estimating activities to help secure new business.
+ Support all corporate strategic initiatives including the development of new technologies, strategies, business plans, etc.
+ Other work items arranged by supervisor.
**Requirements**
People who are interested in vibration and noise signal analysis, physics-guided AI/ML analytics algorithm and tool development and frontier technology exploration with ability, agile and aspiration, communicative, responsible and analytical mindset, you are welcome to apply this position.
As a minimum must have:
+ MS or Ph.D. in Mechanical, HVAC/R, Applied Math, Statistics Engineering with 8+ years of experiences
+ 5+ years of experience in vibration and noise analysis in fault detection, diagnosis and RUL prediction
+ Expertise in physics-guided AI/ML data analytics for HVAC/R and energy system
+ Expertise in working principles of HVAC/R and energy system
+ Expertise in deep learning and generative AI
+ Expertise in coaching junior engineers
+ Proficiency in technical writing, presentation, project management and communication skills
+ Self-motivated and results-oriented
+ Strong leadership skills and an entrepreneurial attitude towards innovation
+ Excellent English skills on both written and speaking
