The Role:

As a Staff Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s network infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and security of all network services, both on-premises and in cloud environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business needs, troubleshoot complex network issues, and contribute to strategic network planning and improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Implementation:

Design, deploy, and manage complex network architectures including LAN, WAN, VPN, and cloud-based solutions.

Implement network security measures, including firewalls, encryption protocols, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies and tools to optimize network performance.

Network Maintenance and Monitoring:

Monitor network performance to ensure availability and reliability.

Perform regular maintenance and upgrades to network hardware and software.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime.

Security and Compliance:

Ensure that the network complies with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures.

Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Collaboration and Support:

Work closely with other IT teams to support the deployment of new applications and services.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers.

Document network configurations, procedures, and best practices.

Strategic Planning:

Contribute to the development of long-term network strategies and capacity planning.

Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in network engineering.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in network engineering, with a strong background in designing and managing complex network environments.

Experience with cloud networking, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Proficiency in network security principles and practices.

Technical Skills:

Expertise in networking technologies such as routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.

Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS).

Hands-on experience with network monitoring and management tools.

Familiarity with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).

Certifications:

Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Soft Skills:

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay within these ranges varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. The range provided may represent a candidate range and may not reflect the full range for an individual tenured employee. This role may be eligible for variable pay and/or equity. Base Pay Ranges:

SF Bay Area, New York City Metro Area:

Base Pay Range: 157,650.00 - 231,220.00 USD

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska:

Base Pay Range: 129,000.00 - 189,200.00 USD

All other cities and states excluding those listed above:

Base Pay Range: 117,600.00 - 172,480.00 USD
