Position Overview
As a Staff Software Engineer, you’ll own new initiatives, designs, and the development of critical pieces of application code powering our new suite of social tools. You’ll ensure industry-leading scalability, reliability, and security of distributed processes and services for these applications. Additionally, you’ll apply state of the art technologies, frameworks, and strategies to address complex challenges with moving information from big data systems to the hands of our customers.

Minimum 7-8 years of experience developing server-side software, with a strong focus on API design, data modeling, and complex service-based systems A strong desire to help create scalable and user-friendly consumer-facing products A proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale, distributed systems Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with REST API design principles and best practices Expertise in data modeling and database design Experience with event-driven architectures and message queuing systems Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines Displaying a test-driven and metrics-based approach to development and design with a desire to find and correct issues before user discovery Understanding of security best practices in software design Hands-on familiarity with Python and Python-centric frameworks (Django, FastAPI, Flask) Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences Experience mentoring and leading development teamsResponsibilities:

Familiarity with the Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery in particular Experience with container technologies such Docker / Kubernetes Experience with event streaming platforms such as Kafka Knowledge of ad serving technologies and standardsThe successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on a number of non-discriminating factors, including qualifications for the role, level, skills, experience, location, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at DV.
The estimated salary range for this role based on the qualifications set forth in the job description is between [$118,000.00 - $230,000.00]. This role will also be eligible for bonus/commission (as applicable), equity, and benefits.
