Retrieves and/or prepares data required to formulate bid responses and supporting design materials for Dedicated Contract Carriage opportunitiesSummarizes results and research to support proposalsMaintain a role in securing new business; assists Business Development group in all phases of sale including participating in preparation and presentation of final proposal materialConducts periodic analysis of existing operations to identify potential areas of improvement, using similar tools and processes as in Business Development activitiesUtilizes a variety of modeling and mapping tools to produce work product
Job Summary:
The Staff Engineer is responsible for conducting analyses that support both Business Development and Operations initiatives within CLMC.
Essential Functions:
Effectively uses experience, technology and best practices to develop transportation solutionsRetrieves and/or prepares data required to formulate bid responses and supporting design materials for Dedicated Contract Carriage opportunitiesSummarizes results and research to support proposalsMaintain a role in securing new business; assists Business Development group in all phases of sale including participating in preparation and presentation of final proposal materialConducts periodic analysis of existing operations to identify potential areas of improvement, using similar tools and processes as in Business Development activitiesUtilizes a variety of modeling and mapping tools to produce work product

Other Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree. Three to five years of experience. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and general public. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
