We are seeking an experienced and talented Staff Engineer II-Materials to join our Southern California team in our Irvine Millikan Lab. This is an exempt position.
In this role, you will be an integral part of our materials testing and special inspections team. We work on a variety of innovative, unique, and award-winning projects in the commercial, residential, industrial, energy generation and distribution, and educational sectors.
Responsibilities: Review field inspection and perform Quality Control of Field reports Review and perform Quality Control of laboratory test reports Maintain log of non-conformance test and inspection reports Preparation of proposals for testing and inspection services, including take-offs and cost estimates Prepare mix design for review/approval Prepare project close-out documentation and reports Enhance HMA testing capabilities in Irvine lab Assist with internal FIMS and LIMS system to control workflow and deadlines for lab testing Assist with performing lab testing as-needed
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geology 2-5 years of experience working in a civil, construction, or geotechnical environment Demonstrated knowledge of test methods Strong problem-analysis skills and the ability to develop alternative strategies Experience overseeing materials testing and special inspections Prior experience in quality management Understanding of accreditation policies for all relevant agencies including Caltrans, DSA, AMRL, CCRL, IAS, etc. Proficiency in MS Office California EIT license or ability to obtain one within a year from start of employment
