Staff Engineer - Semiconductor
As a Staff Engineer in the Photophysics and Radiation Effects section, you will contribute to the understanding of how radiation impacts microelectronic components and use this knowledge to ensure resilience of electronic systems to extreme environments. Towards this end, you will be involved with the characterization of semiconductor materials and devices, fabrication and processing of electronic materials and test structures, and execution of experiments to characterize microelectronic components subjected to ionizing radiation. **Responsibilities:** + Performs electronic and non-electronic characterization measurements on semiconductor materials and devices + Conducts total ionizing dose measurements on devices and specialized test structures (may need to be designed and fabricated, as necessary) + Works with vendors on semiconductor fabrication processes and procedures, and supports electronic materials processing, as necessary. + Designs and implements laboratory set-ups for performing experiments + Documents and reports findings in the form of test reports and presentations **Requirements:** + BS or MS degree in electrical engineering or physics, or in a related field (chemistry, chemical engineering, material science, etc.) with sufficient experience. + Foundational understanding of semiconductor physics + Experience with semiconductor device characterization and associated measurement techniques + Experience in fabricating and processing electronic materials and test structures + Must have strong oral and written communication skills + Must possess the ability to work within a team environment + This position is open to U.S. citizens + The duties of this position may require occasional travel.
