This job is for a Systems Engineer for the LM6000 engine line. The LM6000 is an industrial and marine variant of the aircraft engine CF6-80C2 that has been modified for to power oil & gas and electrical applications. The Staff Engineer - Systems Engineer Test Specialist will be the engineering leader for LM6000 programs including new product introduction, cost out, reliability improvements, engine delivery and root cause investigations of field issues.

You will be responsible for establishing requirements, developing engineering plans to substantiate design changes to meet these requirements, and then leading the engineering teams through execution. This includes the engine level engineering integration and customer communications. Each product validation effort has own uniqueness; hence every project will broaden your area of expertise.

Actively drive technical excellence and learning throughout the organizationDrive root cause and containment for production engine issuesDevelop expertise around unique design difference that have originated from our niche market\\Support engine assembly by quickly resolving technical issuesDetermine and document instrumentation requirements for engineDevelop and execute overall engine test plansProduction engine test requirements document ownership  Lead cost reduction strategy and drive design changes as required to realize cost reductionUse LEAN toolset to improve our engineering team’s talent and ability to meet key metricsEnsure proper use of engineering standard tools and adherence to GE Toll Gate processSupport other GE businesses, internal and external customers, and suppliers as requiredSupport Product Line and Design Team to ensure rapid resolution of quality and delivery issuesProvide technical consultation to cross-functional teams throughout the business to improve or resolve manufacturing, product center, supplier, or field issuesEffectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation, and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers using reports, records, and letters

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or collegeMinimum of 5 years of experience in advanced engine design or engine systems integration
