Staff Engineering Project Manager

NBCUniversal has an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to become a Staff Engineering Project Manager with a specific focus on supporting our Enterprise Technology division. Enterprise Technology supports corporate technology, broadcast, and production systems globally across the NBCU portfolio. This role will work on large complex software projects affecting large parts of our organization. The Staff Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for the successful execution of software, cloud, and infrastructure engineering projects while meeting performance, quality, and scheduling goals. The project manager will be expected to plan and execute in a hybrid waterfall and agile environment. This position requires strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills. Must have a strong technical foundation and ability to quickly develop a deep understanding of the strategic objectives. Responsibilities:     + Lead and manage multiple programs and large projects + Develop and maintain project scope, schedule, and budgets + Manage and update detailed project plans, roadmaps, and trackers to monitor and track progress + Communicate project expectations, risks, and escalations effectively and timely across all levels of the organization + Manage project resource capacity, identify overallocated resources, and build mitigation strategies + Plan and maintain strong mitigation strategies against possible risks and issues + Lead cross-functional teams toward shared goals against tight timelines + Communicate weekly and monthly project status + Provide input towards constantly improving processes with the intention of efficiency and automation Basic Requirements: + B.S./B.A. degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience + 10+ years’ experience leading complex software or infrastructure projects + Experience with project management tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, and Smartsheet + Excellent organization and communication skills, as well as strong and consistent attention to detail + Experience with cloud infrastructure and account migrations + Foundational understanding of software and infrastructure engineering technologies + Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to coordinate and influence team members from global teams with diverse backgrounds, business objectives, and time zone constraints + Adaptable performer who can lead effectively under pressure and through significant change + Ability and desire to continually learn about new technologies, project management methodologies, and adapt to ever-changing business and industry needs Desired Characteristics: + PMP or CSM certification   + Previous work experience within media entertainment industry + AWS or Azure cloud certification, or equivalent deep understanding of AWS and Azure + Culture carrier with strong leadership skills to drive, deliver, develop and inspire + Results-oriented with initiative to work until job is complete + Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV online to be considered + Willingness to travel, work overtime, and on weekends with short notice + Must be willing to submit to a background investigation + Must be 18 years or older Additional Requirements: + Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.
