Staff Environmental Scientist (EIR Scientist 2)

**Job Summary:**
We are looking for a Staff Environmental Scientist (EIR Scientist 2) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments, collecting and analyzing data, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's or Masters's degree in environmental science, geology, chemistry, biology, etc.), or other applied science or engineering. .
+ Minimum 2 years of experience (5+ years preferred) including a combination of environmental assessment and due diligence, data collection and evaluation, sampling, technical writing and QA/QC in the environmental consulting field.
+ Working knowledge of procedures and methodologies pertaining to due diligence, soil or groundwater investigation, remediation, and environmental compliance.
+ Experience performing transactional environmental due diligence, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment report preparation.
+ Experience implementing health and safety requirements.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint).
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently or in a team setting.
+ Excellent problem solving and general scientific evaluation skills.
+ Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple activities on an on-going basis.
+ Must possess a valid U. S. drivers license.
**Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:**
+ Conduct environmental assessments including evaluation of land use history, regulatory database records, and site reconnaissance data, prepare maps identifying potential environmental hazards, develop conclusions and recommendations, and prepare reports;
+ Manage, analyze, and interpret environmental monitoring (water, air, and soil) data, including but not limited to geologic, hydrogeologic and geochemical measurements;
+ Collect soil, water, air, and groundwater samples and measure parameters using field equipment to assess pollution levels;
+ Assess environmental parameter trends and identify exceedances of benchmark pollutant levels; and,
+ Prepare investigation workplans, and prepare reports describing procedures, results, findings, conclusions and recommendations.
**Technical Requirements:**
+ Environmental consulting experience. Hands on experience performing sampling, collecting field data, performing field mapping, and remediation system maintenance a plus, but not required.
+ Career path to attain qualification as an Environmental Professional in accordance with ASTM E1527.
+ OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour training and current 8-hour annual refresher.
+ ArcGIS skills and experience a plus, including environmental mapping.
**Other Miscellaneous Qualities:**
+ Must be willing to travel using company vehicle to local job sites.
+ Able to multi-task and work independently.
+ Possess physical strength, dexterity and stamina. Capable of lifting 50 pounds.
+ Capable of stooping, bending, climbing, and navigating uneven terrain.
+ Writes clearly and informatively, edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively, and able to read and interpret written information.
+ Follow policies and procedures and report unsafe conditions;
+ Adapt to changes in the work environment;
+ Long hours of work when necessary to reach goals;
+ Complete tasks on time and within budget;
+ Undertake self-development activities.
