Department:The Non-Volatile Engineering Group (NVEG), a division within the Technology and Products Group (TPG), is dedicated to advancing non-volatile memory technologies like NAND. Our primary mission is to innovate and develop groundbreaking solutions that improve the performance and reliability of non-volatile memory products.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Staff Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Designing, defining, and implementing complex system requirements for customers and/or prepares studies and analyzes existing systems. Determining system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Coordinating the design of subsystems and the integration of the total system. Identifying analyzing, and resolving program support deficiencies. Developing and recommending corrective actions. Selecting, developing, and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the team.
Basic Qualifications:BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field of study.5+ years of experience with firmware design, development, and debug experience using assembly and C programming.5+ years of experience with PCIe interface and NVMe protocol.5+ years of experience in problem recreations and trapping, and in identifying performance critical algorithms for optimizations.5+ years experience with embedded micro processor architecture.Knowledge of the bus analyzer.Deep understanding of SSD embedded system end to end IO path.Knowledge of configuring and debugging issues from the usage of register settings of ASICs in a SoC and embedded firmware dev environment.Ability to document firmware design and estimate development effort.Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team, able to multitask effectively in fast-paced environment.Preferred Qualifications:MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field of study.5+ Years in Embedded Firmware with Storage/SSD products.5+ years of strong hands-on experience working on firmware development using C/C++ and good understanding of scripting languages including Python/ Perl.5+ years of knowledge with storage interface such as PCIe, SMBus, VDM, etc.5+ years of NVMe protocol experience.5+ years of experience providing engineering test solutions (HW & SW) for Product Development for NAND/System characterization and Silicon debug capabilities.Familiar with Linux environment.Strong embedded firmware debug capabilities.Experience in test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic/bus analyzers.Why Micron?

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$129,000.00 - $219,500.00Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
