Burns McDonnell’s team in Raleigh is looking for a Staff Geologist to manage and support environmental investigation and remediation projects. The position offers the opportunity to take on project management and technical leadership responsibilities and be on the cutting edge of technology applied in the remediation industry including high resolution site characterization (HRSC), remediation system design, risk-based corrective action, stratigraphic analysis, etc.
The Staff Geologist will be part of an experienced team working on site investigation and remediation projects for clients in a variety of sectors (e.g., federal, private industry, chem/pharma, utility) and will generally perform the following duties:
Prepare environmental investigation work plans, reports, feasibility studies, etc.Perform project and task management duties on contaminated site projects.Manage subcontractors, contracting, project scheduling, and execution of field activities.Execute and guide environmental site assessments, including subsurface soil and groundwater sampling, indoor air monitoring, monitoring well installation, soil logging, etc.Assist in remediation system design, implementation, and performance tracking.Work closely with project teams and field personnel to complete projects within scope, schedule, and budget.Onboard and develop junior staff in office and field tasksOther duties, as assigned
