Staff Hardware Technician

We, the Systems R&D team in the Aerospace, Defense and Government (ADG) Unit focus on the design and development of components and systems in key application areas including avionics, communications, navigation, Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Electronic Warfare (EW) and RADAR by using NI's portfolio of PXI RF instruments, modular FPGA co-processors, software-defined radios (USRP products), and software tools (LabVIEW, LabVIEW FPGA, open source). We build IP at different levels to offer outstanding system-level solutions. 
 

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

The ADG Sys R&D team is seeking a Hardware Technician, who will be responsible for part creation and evaluation, schematic entry, build of materials creation and maintenance, and interfacing between R&D and Manufacturing.  Experience with debugging circuits and proficiency in soldering fine pitch surface mount components.

Can effectively interact and connect with engineering teams and management. You possess strong problem-solving skills, work ethic, and strive to succeed with an ability in effectively diagnosing technical issues and proposing reasonable solutions. 
    For This Role, You Will Need: Associate’s Degree or 2-year technical degree Work alongside engineers and technicians in the completion of specific R&D projects   Assist engineers with Verification and Validation (V&V) for your project   Work with Manufacturing to support production deployment of your project Proficient at soldering surface mount components like QFNs & BGAs Create & maintain our products build of materials Able to Read and Interpret Electronics Schematics Test, diagnose and debug technical challenges within the project you will be assigned US Citizen and/or US Person - required by law, regulations and/or government contracts with the DoD. 
 
  Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Experience with using measurement equipment like oscilloscopes, DMM, etc. Experience programming with LabVIEW or another programming language. Experience with PCB Layout tools & test fixture design. Experience with project management
