The Applied Research Test Technology Division in Albuquerque, NM is looking for a candidate for the position of Field Network Engineer. In this role, you will assist the Engineering and Scientific staff in performing integration of COTS software/hardware with unique test articles and research platforms. You will gain a deep understanding of defense research related to ordinance and energetics. In addition to your technical role, you will assist with program management, planning and budgeting, and status reporting.
Position Responsibilities:
The ability to interface with customers/executives and communicate effectively with key stakeholders, and subsequently manage team members towards meeting project objectives Maintain LAN and back haul network infrastructure at White Sands Missile Range that support weapons and energetic materials testing for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. Assist with design drawings and preliminary cost estimates Read and interpreted blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work or military experience Experience with automation and control systems and software such as National Instruments, Allen Bradley Be able to read schematic diagrams and support assembly of test setups and field testing. Supervise layout, fabrication, assembly and installation of experimental or test hardware. Possess critical thinking and collaborative skills. Experience in prototyping, simulating and testing integrated sensor systems and electronic controls. Project management, including managing small teams, and cost estimating. Electrical/electronic design, and layout of network topologies Technical drawing and drafting for build to print packages Proficient in using AutoCAD-electrical and SolidWorks software packages. Install, verify, operate, maintain and troubleshoot: Sensor transducers Install and setting up rack-mounted DAS and T&F equipment Terminate coaxial, Ethernet, and fiber optic cables. Oscilloscopes Logic analyzers CAD software Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EPROM) programmers Frequency counters Digital Volt Meters (DVMs) Network analyzers Transient data recorders Bit error rate testers Time-domain reflectometers General Purpose Interface Bus (GPIB) diagnostic hardware and software RS232 diagnostic hardware and software Intel-based PCs Mainframe and Miniframe computing equipment Serve as network administrator for remote sites, and provide technical installation and troubleshooting support for network infrastructure, to include: Multiple layer 3 switches VLANS Routing OSX, Windows, and Linux PCs fiber optic link aggregation RS232 devices multiple PTZ and IP cameras PV systems NMEA0183 weather stations Linux servers. Microwave backhauls Wi-Fi bridges/Aps VoIP systems Networking layout such as IP addressing, sub-nettingTypical Education/Experience:
Typically, three (3) or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience.

Summary pay range: $90,000 - $124,550
