In this role you’ll own the creation and oversight of left-to-right clear to build schedules to support builds. As an MPM, you will oversee manufacturing operations (production, quality, material planning) cost, schedule and deliverables during New Product Introduction (NPI), Ramp and Sustaining Phases as well as organize and oversee manufacturing (in house or Contract Manufacturer) transition from validation to ramp and production states.
Responsibilities Create and deploy supply requirements to the supply base via MRP which achieves production, inventory and cost objectives. Ensure demand from all sources (production, aftermarket, engineering, etc.) is supported appropriatelyManage safety stock levels and optimize logistical efficiency by managing EOQs Manage planning system parameters and master data to optimally reflect supply chain capabilities and plan supply. Lead/Responsible for Program wide clear-to-build status, material coverage, run-out reports and other analyses as needed to plan production and business targets. Provide data-driven decision support to the broader organization through what-if and scenario planning (as examples)Work with external suppliers to establish the appropriate delivery schedules for individual components, specifying quantity and frequency targeting on-time delivery; coordinate with Supply Chain team and Logistics as neededCollaborate with Supply Chain and Engineering to support material changes resulting from Change action (CAs), plan for new material and minimize obsolescence of old materialApply analytics and supply chain expertise to manage system parameters and meet target inventory and service level goals while minimizing costs and obsolescenceBuild and maintain operational partnerships with assigned suppliers. Act as the primary interface with suppliers on delivery status, issues and resolutionEscalate to commercial or technical partners when required (procurement, accounts payable, quality, engineering, etc.)Support onboarding and training of new suppliers to ensure operational excellence and compliance with Joby’s supply chain processes and policiesCoordinate supplier ramp up and down for new product launches, ensuring suppliers deliver shipments needed to support production targetsManage engineering changes to minimize obsolete inventory and ensure continuous supplyThis role may have to Mentor/Direct team members Required Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or other related field or equivalent experience 10+ years related experience in materials management, production planning, material scheduling, or purchasing in a manufacturing environmentProficiency in MS Excel, including ability to maintain and enhance Excel-based material shortage reportsStrong analytical capabilities Desired Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software, SAP enterprise system inventory management system such as MES is a plus Ability to optimize delivery costs and inventory levels are desired EEOCompensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $106,000 - $175,000/year. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
