As the Staff Mechatronics Engineer, you will be responsible for the architecture of our stack. You will choose, validate, and build the software interface for all hardware devices. Collaborating with a talented team of software engineers, you will implement mechatronics software to meet the quality, performance, observability, and real-time characteristics required by our intelligent warehouse robotics applications.
ResponsibilitiesArchitect and develop the software interface for hardware devices.Collaborate with software engineers to implement mechatronics software.Ensure software meets quality, performance, observability, and real-time characteristics.Optimize performance and develop test strategies for mechatronics devices and distributed systems.Support and develop real-time applications in C++ for production use.Essential SkillsBS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.7+ years of production experience, preferably within robotics or autonomous vehicles.Strong experience with C++ and its toolchain (build & CI tools, compilers, debuggers, profilers).Expertise in multi-threaded, non-blocking, and asynchronous programming.Track record of delivering highly performant, real-time software.Strong industry knowledge of Linux, RTOS.Expert level expertise with EtherCAT, CAN, and CANOpen.Well-versed with motor control, peripherals, sensors, and hardware in industrial or automotive domains.Experience with hardware systems and interfacing with software.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Docker and Kubernetes.Background in mechatronics devices and tools within AV and Robotics spaces.Prior experience building, training, and deploying production machine learning models from scratch using PyTorch and TensorFlow.Work Environment
Expected to be onsite 5x a week. Business casual attire. Meals and snacks provided at our sites.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $180000.00 - $220000.00/yr.
