Maintain a professional and compassionate presence with patients, families, physicians, and co-workers. Assess and plan individualized nursing care based on patient history, observations, physical exams, and diagnostic data. Implement appropriate nursing interventions aligned with the Plan of Care and physician-prescribed treatments. Conduct hourly rounds to ensure patient safety and comfort.✅ Demonstrating Competency in Cardiovascular Nursing (Including, but not limited to):
Emergency Management: Fire Safety, Hazardous Materials, Emergency Codes, Security Alerts, and Environment of Care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams such as Case Managers, Social Workers, Dietitians, Physical Therapy, and Pharmacy. Implement Patient Satisfaction Initiatives, including Service Recovery, Communication Boards, and GET IT scripting. Follow patient safety protocols, including effective communication, proper patient identification, labeled specimens, and universal protocol adherence. Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for order entry, patient census, lab reviews, critical results, and documentation accuracy. Conduct bedside nursing handoff reports, ensuring continuity of care.✅ Advanced Clinical Responsibilities in the Cath Lab
Administer moderate sedation, contrast injections, and point-of-care testing. Perform sheath removals, procedural aseptic scrubbing, and operation of cardiovascular equipment. Utilize physiological monitoring systems, ablation generators, cardiac mapping, and ultrasound machines. Conduct device interrogation and temporary disablement of cardiac devices. Participate in ICD Registry data collection and submission. Apply and document patient restraints and seclusion when necessary. Implement infection control precautions, including Airborne, Droplet, and Contact Precautions.✅ Leadership & Growth Opportunities
Serve as Charge Nurse when assigned, overseeing the daily operations of the Cath Lab. Precept and mentor novice employees, contributing to staff development. Engage in evidence-based practice initiatives and participate in hospital-wide nursing programs. Float to other cardiovascular or similar units as needed.
