Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Intensive Care Unit, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital Primary Work Shift: Night Rotational Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Compensation Range: $38.77 - $55.00 per hour, depending on experience ----- Sign-on Incentive: Experienced candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000. Job Responsibilities: + Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse when designated by unit assignment, considering factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact + Educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources + Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to United Health Services policy Shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization including staffing, time management, supplies, and services + Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and United Health Services policies + Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices + Actively engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completes all mandatory education requirements + Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice + Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students + Performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned Position Qualifications: Minimum Required: + A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing + Current NYS RN License or Valid NYS Limited Permit to practice as a GN Preferred: + Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing + Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting + Professional certification in a related nursing specialty + Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned ----- Why You’ll Love Working at UHS At United Health Services (UHS), we believe every connection—to patients, to purpose, to each other—makes a difference.
