_*SUMMARY:*_ Hennepin Healthcare is hiring a* Staff Nurse*to join our Oncology departmentin downtown Minneapolis. This triage based role is a full-time position and will work day shift(1.0 FTE: 5 days/week, 8 hour shifts). **This position is currently Monday-Friday day hours but may expand to include evenings and weekends as we grow. A sign-on bonus is available for eligible external candidates (current employees and former employees returning to HHS within one year are ineligible). ** _*RESPONSIBILITIES*_ Within the context of the Hennepin Healthcare System Relationship-Based Care practice model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by: * Protecting, promoting wellness and optimizing health * Triaging patients by assessing severity of symptoms and referral to appropriate setting or level of care * Alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response * Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others * Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care * Educating patient on their disease process * Assuring continuity of care * Educating patient and family in preventative care which promotes health and well being *_QUALIFICATIONS:_* Minimum Qualifications: * Graduation from an accredited school of nursing * Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota * Triage experience required * 1 year of current oncology professional nursing (RN) experience * OCN certified or able to obtain certification within 2 years of hire date * Chemo administrative experience Preferred Qualifications: * Certification in area of clinical specialty * Prior Referral experience * Chemo/Biotherapy course * Inpatient Oncology experience * BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged.
