STAFF NURSE UNION, RN AUDITOR - SURGERY

BASIC FUNCTION:

Under the immediate supervision of the Perioperative Coordinator/Educator and Director of Surgical Services, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the safety and planning of care of the patient while in the Surgical Services Department. The R.N. assists with surgical procedures in circulating and possible scrub duties.  Assists in orientation, training and education of personnel.  The RN takes call as assigned by the Perioperative Coordinator/Educator or Director of Surgical Services and cross trains to other areas within Surgical Services.

AUDITOR DUTIES:

Ensure all charges flow to the billing system appropriately Improve information flow between departments (Central Service, Surgery, Revenue, Operations, and Finance departments) Discover incorrectly documented information Times SCIP/HOPS data Quality/compliance measures Implants for recalls Discover cases with no charges generated Discover undocumented or incorrectly documented item usage Free text item resolution Preference Card optimization Educate staff on errors

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or college nursing program. Currently licensed by the Ohio State Board of Nursing. Surgical experience is preferred. Must be able to take call as assigned by the director. Maintains current BLS through the American Heart Association. ACLS is required within 6 months. RNFA must meet/and maintain ACH Allied Health requirements on an ongoing basis. Joins or maintains membership in ONA and the Alliance Local Unit of ONA within 31 days of employment. Must be computer-literate to complete task (s) as required. Ability to retrieve e-mails, complete online enrollment for health insurance/benefits and any other programs, as assigned.
