BASIC FUNCTION:

The Endoscopy Registered Nurse assists in the nursing care of patients having upper and/or lower Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy, and Special Procedures in both the Center for Digestive Health and Inpatient ESP1.  The nurse functions independently in the pre-procedure, procedure and post-procedure Endoscopy and Special Procedure areas and the Inpatient Endoscopy and Bronchoscopy (ESP1) areas.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Registered Nurse currently licensed by the Ohio State Board of Nursing. The Charge Nurse must have worked in the Endoscopy Unit for at least 3 years and must have experience assisting with all the departmental quality projects with an understanding of how to complete them independently. The Charge Nurse is responsible for knowledge of departmental, equipment, and Provation troubleshooting. Maintains current B.L.S./A.C.L.S. certification. Casual Part-Time RNs not assigned to on call are exempt from the A.C. L.S. requirement. Joins and maintains membership in O.N.A. and the Alliance Local Unit of O.N.A. within 31 days of employment. Must be computer-literate to complete the task(s) as required. Ability to retrieve e-mails, complete online enrollment for health insurance/benefits and any other programs, as assigned.
