Staff Nurse - Vascular Access

Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient needs utilizing nursing process.  Actively participates in providing patient care as defined by multidisciplinary plan of care.  Provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients from pediatric to geriatric populations with diverse cultural backgrounds.

 

The IV team is responsible for PICC insertions, ELC catheter insertions, and Midline catheter insertions. Each of these catheter insertions requires specialized training and expertise. The IV team performs daily assessments of PICC lines. The daily assessments have allowed for early intervention in order to prevent PICC line associated infections. The reduction in CLABSI rates assist in meeting organizational goals.


 

Qualifications: Requires RN with current SC license.  BSN preferred.  PICC experience and IV therapy experience a plus.  One year nursing experience preferred.  ADN candidates must be enrolled in a BSN program within 18 months from date of hire and are required to obtain BSN within four (4) years of date of hire. For current AnMed Health Associate Degree Nurses (ADN) who were hired as RNs prior to January 1, 2013, and already working as an acute care Staff Nurse as of that date, the requirement to obtain BSN within four (4) years will be waived.
