Job Summary: To assure that all medications dispensed from the Pharmacy Department are checked by a registered pharmacist as required by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy and that information regarding the safe and appropriate use of drugs is disseminated as appropriate to the care of our patients.

Minimum Requirements:
Must be a graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy and hold a current state license to practice pharmacy, with hospital pharmacy experience preferable. Must have the ability to use the Pharmacy computer system at an acceptable level after having been instructing during the training period. Must be willing to work a rotation shift and be willing to accept "call back". The pharmacist staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age – specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the Pharmacy/I.V.
