We are seeking a highly skilled engineer with a background in Material Science and Polymers to join our Process Engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of materials, process efficiencies, equipment, and measurement system analysis, with a consistent track record of driving improvement initiatives in the production of high-quality medical devices.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

1. Identifies key opportunities to develop and raw materials and/or process enhancements that will improve efficiency, cost, yield, and product performance.

2. Identify, plan, and implement projects related to product and process improvement, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

3. Design and implement experimental protocols applying statistical tools to enhance manufacturing processes and product performance.

4. Analyze current raw material characteristics and supplier processes to identify key opportunities enhancements that improve manufacturing cost, yield, and product performance.

5. Develop detailed documentation for process validation, project management, business case proposals, and root cause problem solving while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal standards.

6. Monitor and analyze raw material characteristics and production data to identify trends and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Material Science with 6 years of relevant experience OR a Master’s degree in Materials Science with 4 years of experience OR a PhD in Material Science with 2 years of experience.Practical experience evaluating how material properties, manufacturing equipment, and process settings interact to influence the final product performance.Proven project management experience in an engineering environment.Strong analytical problem-solving skills with experience in data analysis and visualization.Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.Strong organizational skills.Proven experience using Minitab, JMP, or other analytical tools for comprehensive statistical analysis and effective data visualization. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multi-functional teams and influence partners at all levels.Understanding of the relationship between raw materials, photopolymerization, and polymer properties.Ability to analyze polymer characterization techniques and suggest further testing based on project specific outcomes.The ability to travel up to 10%.Preferred experience:2 years’ experience in an engineering function in regulated environment preferred.Six Sigma certification or extensive experience applying Six Sigma methodologies for analytical problem solving preferred.
