About this roleAs a Product Designer for the Instructor Experience portfolio, you will manage the team responsible for designing the experiences helping tens of thousands of instructors create and manage their courses on Udemy and Udemy Business. Our instructors are passionate, creative entrepreneurs who want to share their expertise with the world. Your mission will be to enable them to create high quality content and support their students throughout the learning journey through new features, tools, and dashboards. Initially, you will have two designers to manage and in the short-term will be expected to also act as a lead designer on some projects.
What you'll be doing Seek qualitative and quantitative data to inform hypothesis about how to improve the Instructor user experience Facilitate your teams effort to solve priority problems and opportunities through workshops and other ideation methods Own the solution design process, taking it through multiple iterations and rounds of feedback with your team, stakeholders, the design group and the potential users. Leverage expertise and collaborate with a cross-functional team spanning consumer research, data science, product management, and engineering to test, iterate and launch features that advance our mission Drive the design process and quality by taking solutions through multiple iterations and feedback rounds to ensure the best user experience. Partnering with and mentoring junior designers in order to help them advance their craft. What you’ll have 7+ Years of Product design / UX design experience A portfolio of end-to-end product design work that showcases your involvement with research, discovery, visual design, implementation and measuring impact. Collaborated with Product Managers, Researchers and Engineers in your previous roles, representing design needs and value. A highly-collaborative and low-ego approach. An open mind about everything and always looking to learn more about design, the ed tech industry and looking to try out new methods in your work. You’re an ambassador for design who brings diverse stakeholders together to align and work together to solve problems.
