Basic Function and Scope of the Position:
This role is responsible for driving adoption and usage of our informatics and software portfolio and in the Asia, Middle East & Africa Region. This includes delivering regional commercial activities associated with new software and informatics product introductions, regular monitoring of usage and adoption, and timely identification of gaps and ways to address them through different channels.
The Staff Product Marketing Manager will work closely with segment managers to ensure proper positioning of informatics portfolio solutions in the different market segments. This individual will also work with sales at key and strategic accounts. Successful candidate will be responsible for understanding the customer technical requirements and provide voice of region to the SW & Informatics global team.
The Staff Product Marketing Manager will also need to work closely with corporate product management and marketing groups across the organization to assure they have appropriate visibility into up-coming key launches and corporate priorities to assure alignment with global strategies.
They will develop and implement regional marketing plans and help execute outbound marketing programs and campaigns, as well as the collect, evaluate and communicate the effectiveness of these activities. This role is responsible for the performance of informatics products in the region including evaluating the regional sales funnel and competitive landscape.
A good understanding of Genomics and associated Software and Informatics solutions is essential.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Primary AMEA point of contact for Software and Informatics solutions. Accountable for the success of informatics products in the region and attainment of associated revenue targetsDevelop strategic plan for AMEA region that is synergistic with global strategy. Is a champion for the AMEA region and ensures it is well represented and that global strategies are relevant.Works with a cross-functional team to develop and execute regional sales and marketing plans for key products.Works with operations team to monitor pipeline and performance of informatics portfolio on a regular basis and designs strategies to achieve or exceed expected growth. Summarizes, responds to and communicates regional field information regarding selling activities in the field.Assure regional team alignment around sales messaging, customer targeting, use cases, and market segment prioritization.Work closely with both sales and segment managers to ensure that informatics products are driven and positioned accordingly in the different subregions and in segments.Monitors competitive activity and provides regular updates and response.Works with management to identify sales training areasIs a key member of the global Informatics team and represents the voice of AMEA regionAll listed tasks and responsibilities are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities.
Preferred Educational Background:
Education in bioinformatics, biostatistics or a related field PhD in bioinformatics or related preferredMBA or equivalent a plusPreferred Experience & Skills:
Minimum of 8 years of experience out of which a minimum of 3+ years’ experience in product marketing or sales in Informatics, Genomics or related fieldExperience with bioinformatics research pipelines, genomics and sequencing technologies and analysisExperience marketing cloud computing, high performance computing, AI/ML and/or genomic analysis platforms and/or solutionsDemonstrated experience interacting with stakeholders and ability to build and convey compelling value propositions and work cross-organizationally to build consensus.
