Staff Program Manager, Infinium Array Platform


Illumina is seeking a Staff Program Manager to drive project execution and design changes within the Infinium Array portfolio. Candidates should have a strong understanding of product development processes, know-how in managing quality investigations, CAPAs and design changes. Candidates must also have relevant multi-disciplinary technical experience in assay development, surface chemistry, engineering, instrumentation, and software with a preference for biochemistry and assay development backgrounds. Familiarity in microarray-based genotyping, in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) is preferred.
The successful candidate will be a key member of the Array Project Management Office (PMO). This team is accountable for the on-market product support of the end-to-end Infinium array product family and successful on-time delivery of all array product development programs. Products developed and supported include the iScan, customer workflow automation, ancillary lab equipment, microarray and reagent consumables, and customer facing software.


Responsibilities:

Lead and work with the on-market and PDP core teams in developing detailed project plans, define scope & goals, create WBS & tasks assignment, identify key tasks with detailed timelines, identify workstream dependencies, analyze critical paths, and set milestones.

Form and engage project teams to determine potential risks and have mitigation plans in place. Develop project effectiveness checks and monitor in conjunction with leadership. Track and report on project KPIs.

Present project plans and provide regular updates to senior management over the project management lifecycle to manage progress against planned commitments and expectations.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to advance portfolio capabilities based on business priorities. Apply best practices and knowledge of internal/external business challenges to improve products and cost efficiency.

Work independently to handle multiple projects in-parallel and communicate effectively to all levels of the organization.

Network with internal personnel in a matrixed organization to balance priorities and optimize execution.

Adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment with shifting demands, working with teams locally and in different time zones, most commonly PST (UTC -8) and GMT (UTC +0). Demonstrate strong leadership to effectively work across teams and functions.

Requirements:

Advanced user of project management tools including Microsoft Project and Office Timeline Pro+ to identify and capture workstream dependencies, determine critical paths, resource loading and schedule optimization.

Product development lifecycles and on-market product management working experience (in R&D, Manufacturing Operations, or Software Development organizations).

Familiar with Atlassian Confluence and JIRA software and Planisware

Demonstrated success as an independent PM, strong in communication, interpersonal skills, and customer focus.

Advanced maturity and emotional intelligence, able to negotiate and influence cross-functionally.

Experience working in a regulated environment and familiar with design controls for the development of medical devices such as 21CFR820, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971.

Familiar with genotyping, genetic sequencing principles, sequencing devices and applications is preferred.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (in Engineering or Scientific discipline), with at least 8 years of MNC working experience in product development in a regulated industry.4 years as a project manager, with PMP certification will be a plus
