Staff Regulatory Compliance Engineer
Req ID: 124343 Region: Americas Country: United States State/Province: Texas City: Richardson **Summary** The Hardware Platform Solutions (HPS) engineering team in the US is a core engineering team within Celestica development capabilities that design and lead Hardware Reliability, Hardware EMC/Safety and Environmental compliance for all products NPI (New Product Introduction) development and Data Centers Rack systems. HPS Engineering team is nimble and moves fast; being a central resource succeeds by leveraging key cross-functional partnerships and working closely with our ODM/JDM partners. As part of Celestica’s engineering organization, the compliance engineer will lead compliance projects and certification efforts to ensure Data center Products NPI meets all requirements throughout its lifecycle. The **Staff Regulatory Compliance Enginee** r will work closely with Celestica internal and external stakeholders to enable seamless implementation of Celestica compliance process to support Celestica’s ambitious hardware and data center growth targets. In this role, you will be a key driver of compliance excellence, leading initiatives to refine and improve Celestica's compliance processes. Through a combination of independent and collaborative work, you will identify areas for enhancement, develop and implement effective solutions, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team. Your expertise and leadership will ensure Celestica's compliance processes remain efficient and adaptable to a rapidly evolving hardware technology and compliance landscape. **Detailed Description** + Lead compliance analysis and work with the design teams to ensure the products designed can meet regulatory and compliance specifications. + Work with the design team and customers to understand and define compliance requirements of products. + Conduct design review and close loops with the design team to fix design issues. + Define the compliance testing strategy, test plan and conduct test. + Coordinate third-party performance and compliance testing. + Perform compliance testing and generate failure reports. + Design guidelines recommendations based on pre-analysis and testing. + Actively collaborate with the engineering team and seek opportunities to develop new/improve existing test methodology to enhance product development efficiency. + Apply problem-solving and analytical skills to conduct failure analysis. + Check the status of various business operations to ensure compliance with regulations. + Lead ODM/JDM and cross-functional team discussions to develop EMC/Safety/Env compliance design, and qualification strategies, meeting the Project NPI schedule. + Conduct thorough reviews of schematic, PCB and mechanical designs, providing guidance and recommendations for improvement to meet Celestica EMC and Safety goals. + Leverage your technical expertise to debug and resolve EMC and safety issues, ensuring compliance with standards and Celestica internal requirements + Lead and collaborate with the design engineers and the external lab test engineer for EMC and safety testing, at either Celestica internal lab or at the 3rd party lab + Develop methodology or perform EMC simulations as required, correlating results with measurement data to optimize HW design and ensure EMC performance + Lead root cause analysis for safety incidents, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop solutions, risk mitigation plans, and preventive measures. + Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party agencies (e.g. UL, CSA) and industry community (e.g. OCP), facilitating collaboration and advancing Celestica's interests. + Collaborate with other compliance team members, and take a strong ownership of maintaining all EMC and safety certification requirements throughout its lifecycle. **Knowledge/Skills/Competencies** + Highly knowledgeable in both EMC and safety design principles and concepts + Experience with data center hardware (server and networking rack systems) is a significant plus, with experience to manage EMI/Safety risks and mitigation processes, ensuring compliance with standards and Celestica internal requirements. + Experience to perform comprehensive hardware safety-focused Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), identifying and evaluating potential safety risks and hazards. Safety experiences with liquid cooling hardware product is a plus. + Safety experience working on liquid cooling systems is a plus. + Experience working on complex hardware design, especially for data center servers and networking hardware. + Self-motivated individual with proven experience with a track record of success in EMC and safety engineering. + Hands on experience to perform EMC and safety testing. + Thorough understanding of national deviations on safety and EMC standards. + Understanding about worldwide compliance approval process for IT (Information Technology) hardware. **Physical Demands** + Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. + Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. + Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required. + Occasional travel may be required. **Typical Experience** + 7 to 10 years of related experience **Typical Education** + Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering. **Notes** This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities of the position.
