Staff Resident Engineer

This individual will be onsite in Brooklyn, NY 2 days a week.

We are looking for a Staff Resident Engineer to join our Federal Professional Services Team, reporting to the manager of Federal Professional Services. In this role, the main focus is to prepare and validate equipment configurations for new installations, troubleshoot network issues, and assess the overall health of the Infoblox infrastructure at the client’s location.  This role will be based out of Brooklyn, New York.

What you’ll do:  

Implementation, integration, and migration planningDevelopment and maintenance of fault diagnosis procedures to support effective fault resolutionNetwork-related testing to ensure Infoblox products operate correctlyValidation testing of Infoblox productsOngoing, informal, knowledge transferSupport and plan for Infoblox migrations, including assistance with:Authoritative DNS migrationDeveloping strategy and planning for DNSSEC deploymentScripted cutover proceduresGo/No-go criteria for migration and Infoblox cutoversMiscellaneous scripting support and Infoblox public API usageParticipation in Architecture extensions for other functional areasDocumenting how to migrate data to the Infoblox GridDocumenting the process for the bulk importing of dataLeading project status meetings and wrap-up/post-mortem meetingsTools development, including: Record management process templates and documentationDevelop tools as necessary to import/verify data

What you’ll bring:  

US Citizenship required8-10 years of experienceExtensive experience with Infoblox or DDICCNA certificationDemonstrated expertise in Linux/UNIX, MS Windows/Active Directory/Exchange, networking, service management, and service deskStrong briefing skills; experience interacting with SES/general officer-level managementAd-hoc (as requested) written summary reports on equipment and network problemsEquipment test plans and resultsFeature and functionality test plansNetwork diagramsOperations and support proceduresTechnical input to major service outage root cause analysis and corrective action reportsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory

What success looks like: 

In the first six months, you will… 

Become integrated with your customer and Infoblox processes and proceduresUnderstand your customer’s technical needs and requirements and recommend solutionsWork directly with your Infoblox sales team and manager on potential up-sell of productsComplete all required Infoblox federal and technical training

After the first year, you will… 

Receive successful customer satisfaction surveysWork toward renewal of the Resident Engineer

You can expect our employment offers to take many factors into consideration, including but not limited to the location of the role, internal equity, applicable past experience, individual skill set, education, and professional certifications. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned is the base salary range for the role. The typical base salary range for this position is $120,600 -$181,720 plus bonus potential.
