POSITION SUMMARY
A RN New Graduate who desires a focused clinical experience to develop evidence-based decision making and communication skills, achieve clinical competency, and utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care to patients. Services provided are for acutely ill patients with medical / surgical diagnoses, which are the primary reasons for admission. The RN New Graduate functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing care teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs nursing care for patients with complex, multisystem needs. The RN New Graduate demonstrates investment in the overall forward movement of the organization and the assigned nursing unit(s). The RN New Graduate applies critical thinking skills and interpersonal communication skills to achieve appropriate professional relationships, utilizing verbal and non-verbal skills to achieve organizational service goals of customer satisfaction and a positive work environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountable to the unit Manager and/or the Director of the department.Adherence to identified nursing standards of practice.Annually demonstrates standards of competent performance (BRN) for all assigned areas. May float to multiple hospital departments.Displays professional commitment and supports the unit team by promoting unity and teamwork among coworkers, maintaining a positive attitude and positive working relationships.Demonstrates competency in IV therapy.Demonstrates competency in medication administration and knowledge prior to administering medications.Responsible for the planning, directing, implementation, and evaluation of each patient. The implementation of nursing care may be delegated by the RN responsible for the patient to other licensed nursing staff, or may be assigned to unlicensed staff, subject to any limitations to their licensure, certification, level of competency, and/or regulation. The RN will direct care provided by the LVN, and/or CNA.Responsible for understanding and participating in the organization-wide Performance Improvement Program through orientation, education, departmental and interdepartmental quality control, performance improvement, and quality planning activities.Demonstrates proficiency in the use of the PDCA model for PI.Articulates understanding of and participation in value-based purchasing initiatives.Demonstrates competency and participates in survey readiness audits for regulatory compliance.Demonstrates the IRAISE values in all professional and patient care interactions.Performs other duties as assigned by Manager / Director / Clinical Lead RN.Performance and Competency will be evaluated at 90 days, 6 months and 1 year.Education Minimum (Required) Associate of Science in Nursing Preferred (Not required) Bachelor of Science in Nursing Work Experience Minimum (Required) • Completion of nursing degree program within 12 months. • Less than 12 months of clinical staff work experience Licenses and Certifications Minimum (Required) • A current RN licensure in the State of California is required. • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. • Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association. Pay Transparency The hourly rate range for this position is $48.41 - $76.69.
