Job Description
This position provides direct patient care and education for patients receiving research treatments, examinations, surgeries, etc., in a medical office according to established procedures. The role requires working one-on-one with participants receiving trials. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented and able to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) line by line, ensuring all patient data is meticulously recorded.
ResponsibilitiesUtilize the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating a plan of patient care.Provide patient care, which may include administering research and/or SOC medication, performing procedures, and monitoring patient status in accordance with approved nursing practice.Provide appropriate counsel and education to patients and their families regarding symptom management.Maintain medical records with appropriate and timely recording of patient information.Consult with members of the healthcare team, adjusting nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Assist the healthcare provider with examinations, procedures, prescription refills, and other processes related to direct patient care.Maintain required skills and competencies and participate in educational programs, staff meetings, and in-services such as CPR as required.Essential SkillsPatient careBlood drawEKGMedication administrationIV therapyAdditional Skills & QualificationsBasic Life Support - American Heart Association or Basic Life Support - American Red CrossRegistered Nurse2 years of clinical/floor experienceWork Environment
Working on the floor of the Center for Outpatient Health (COH). The schedule is from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM (12-hour shifts), rotating Monday through Thursday. There will be no work on Fridays or weekends. Alternatively, the position is open to someone willing to work overnight Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shifts.
