Staff RN resource (Pain & Spine Care Center) – 35170

1.  Maintains certification in ACLS per national standard (for Registered Nurse performing moderate sedation).

2.  Prepares patient for procedure through education, obtaining lab work, initiating venous access, and medicating the patient as needed.

3.  Explains procedure(s) and provide age-appropriate pre-procedure instructions to patients and their significant other.

4.  Administers moderate sedation to patients undergoing invasive procedures under the direction of the anesthesiologist (if applicable).

5.  Reports changes in patient’s condition and aids in emergency measures as required.

6.  Administers post-procedure care and instructions.

7.  Provides assistance in positioning C-Arm device for Physician, as needed.

8.  Applies the nursing process in the assessment and care of pain & spine center patients.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:

BSN degree Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
