Work Arrangement:
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Markham Elevation Centre (MEC) three times per week, at minimum.
Core Responsibilities:
Lead a high-level software framework design for the software owned by the ART, comprehending all NFRs and future technical directions thereby enabling the Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery pipeline.
Develop software utilities, scripts in C to interact with Propulsion Thermal controls software and rest of the system
Define and lead the standardization of software development within the ART, including technical documentation for the software framework established
Plan, define, and own the implementation of enablers as required to support VIP and SDV software builds. Owning ARTs software deployment and aligning on branching strategies with direction and guidance from Mechatronics Systems and Infrastructure.
Lead and define software subsystems/domains and their interfaces, allocate responsibilities, and communicate requirements for interactions with solution context and system, working with the Product System Engineer
Drive software quality improvements into the software owned by the ART, this includes software peer reviews, code complexity analysis and evaluating code for controller resource improvements.
Review existing software to determine if restructuring is needed to improve -ilities (quality, maintainability, reusability, or other software improvements)
Develop the architectural runway for the ART, comprehending all Enabler Epics, and Business Epics, and all System Architect variant architectural roadmaps.
Work with the PMO and operate within an economic framework to analyze the impact of design decisions and help plan both business and enabler work.
Break large architectural initiatives into features and stories that can be executed in the 2-week sprint increments.
Ensure alignment of with external Process Compliance (ISO26262,ISO9001, CG2999/CG300)
Ensure alignment of with internal Process Compliance (CPoE, Global Validation)
Champion cross-functional flow improvements with Systems Engineering, System Safety, Global Validation, Calibration
Additional Job DescriptionRequired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Software, Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent fields
8+ years of experience leading engineering teams that develop embedded software using Simulink and C
8+ years of experience leading and developing Propulsion Thermal software applications or equivalent.
Demonstrated expertise managing teams that deploy modern design patterns and scalable, reusable code in Automotive environments.
In-depth familiarity with ISO26262, ISO9001 and other functional safety standards
Demonstrated results in successful project execution.
Excellent multi-functional communication and leadership skills - able to get multiple teams moving in the same direction.
Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity while driving timely decision making.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices
Knowledge of Thermal Systems for EV/ICE/PHEV
