Staff Software Engineer, Ads Measurement
The Conversion Visibility team enables a performant ads marketplace and helps prove the value to advertisers by connecting Pinterest onsite activity with conversions that happen offsite (both digital and physical) in a privacy-preserving way. We're seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the team. You will build the team roadmap and leverage state-of-the-art matching, stream processing and ML technologies to improve the coverage, accuracy and richness of conversion signals.
What you’ll do:
Create a scalable and highly available pipeline for matching users and products of conversion events, with data accuracy guarantees and near real time latency. Innovate deterministic and probabilistic(ML based) algorithms to improve the conversion’s user match rate and conversion data quality. Tackle privacy headwinds and protect the visibility of identifiable conversions. Build the performant conversion signals to optimize Ads and Organic recommendation and personalization. Build systems that process petabytes of data every day using cutting edge technologies. Lead technical initiatives across multiple teams, mentor engineers and build effective XFN alignment.
What we’re looking for:
BS (or higher) degree in Computer Science, or a related field. 7+ years of relevant industry experience in designing large scale production systems. 1+ years experience as a tech lead. Deep knowledge with at least one state-of-art programming language (Java, C++, Python), distributed systems and big data processing (Flink, Spark, Kafka, Hive etc). Experience with ads measurement, recommendation systems or ML signals. Strong mentorship and coaching abilities. Individuals looking to work in a close, collaborative group to drive success of key business metrics.
In-Office Requirement Statement:
We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection. This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1 time per week and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from the Seattle office.
