Your impact

Cisco Isovalent is seeking an experienced engineer to work on Envoy development and integration in Isovalent products. You’ll contribute to Cilium’s Envoy and Isovalent’s Load Balancer into its C++ codebase, their Go control plane and sometimes down to eBPF. You will work with a highly collaborative and skilled team to build solutions that advance the next generation of networking and security in Kubernetes environments.

You will

Develop high-quality code to integrate Envoy into larger projects, like Cilium or its Load BalancerImplement new Envoy featuresDebug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to Envoy and Cilium integration.Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and contribute to technical documentation.Possibility to speak at public conferences about achievements (if desired).

Minimum Qualifications:

Computer Science degree, or equivalent experience5+ years of experience in Go and C++ or similar languagesExperience in networking concepts and protocolsExperience with Envoy proxy or a similar projects development and their internals

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge about Linux systems design, security and/or networking, Linux kernelExperience with Kubernetes, Cloud Native workloads and/or distributed systemsDesire to write high quality and efficient codeExperience designing and implementing APIsA public track record of open-source code commits is a plus
