Your impact
Cisco Isovalent is seeking an experienced engineer to work on Envoy development and integration in Isovalent products. You’ll contribute to Cilium’s Envoy and Isovalent’s Load Balancer into its C++ codebase, their Go control plane and sometimes down to eBPF. You will work with a highly collaborative and skilled team to build solutions that advance the next generation of networking and security in Kubernetes environments.
You will
* Develop high-quality code to integrate Envoy into larger projects, like Cilium or its Load Balancer
* Implement new Envoy features
* Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to Envoy and Cilium integration.
* Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and contribute to technical documentation.
* Possibility to speak at public conferences about achievements (if desired).
Minimum Qualifications:
* Computer Science degree, or equivalent experience
* 5+ years of experience in Go and C++ or similar languages
* Experience in networking concepts and protocols
* Experience with Envoy proxy or a similar projects development and their internals
Preferred Qualifications:
* Knowledge about Linux systems design, security and/or networking, Linux kernel
* Experience with Kubernetes, Cloud Native workloads and/or distributed systems
* Desire to write high quality and efficient code
* Experience designing and implementing APIs
* A public track record of open-source code commits is a plus
