Minimum qualifications: + Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. + 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms. + 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture. + 5 years of experience in Machine Learning (ML) Algorithm development. + Experience with computer vision or image/video diffusion models. Preferred qualifications: + Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. + 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction. + Experience with Large Language Models (LLM). + Experience in hardware architecture. + Experience in algorithm and hardware design trade-off analysis. The multimedia team in Silicon is building the next generation edge TPU to enable Generative AI applications on-device. This is a very challenging task with extreme power and latency targets, and hence requires cutting edge research in hardware and in Gen AI model architectures and algorithms. The team aims to accomplish this result by co-designing the hardware and the ML model architecture. In this role, you'll be expected to lead a significant aspect of the co-design. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Learn more about benefits at Google (https://careers.google.com/benefits/) . + Research and develop state-of-the-art ML algorithms for camera imaging and other multi-media use cases. + Explore and identify technical directions for new imaging and video ML models, algorithms and architectures. + Construct the specifications of the proposed ML models. + Work with architects, algorithm experts, research, image quality and software teams to identify and develop new ML models. + Optimize models to run on a Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) or design for hardware acceleration.
