Staff Software Engineer 1
**Description** The Test Technology Division (TTD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking to fill a position for a Staff Software Engineer to develop software tools for test support. Our software programmers support fielded tools by maintaining existing applications and implementing new features and methodologies. Additionally, our software engineering supports a wide range of data analysis various projects including signal processing, analysis, large data set analysis, AI tools (deep learning and machine learning), etc. A strong science and/or math background is desired. You will gain a deep understanding of defense research projects that are related to ordinance and energetics. **Responsibilities** : + Designing, coding, and debugging applications in C++ and/or C#, Python, Matlab, or other languages. + Performing software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, and software review. + Performing object-oriented design and analysis (OOA and OOD). + Implementing new graphical user interfaces and visualization. + Software testing and quality assurance. + Supporting, maintaining, and documenting software functionality. + Software support/bug fixes. The candidate is expected to develop new features or methodologies by working alongside modelers and scientists as well as modify existing software tools. Candidates must work in an agile team environment focused on delivering quality applications. To apply, go to  http://careers.ara.com **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or related field. + 2-7 years’ employment experience in software development and computer programming. + Demonstrated proficiency programming in C++ and/or C# and Python, Matlab a plus. + Independent and self-motivated. + Excellent technical, communication, and presentation skills. + Able to work with little supervision, including setting and achieving interim milestones that support higher task objectives. + Eligibility to obtain a DoD security clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience with the following specific topics are considered strong pluses. + Experience with software configuration management. + Experience with Visual Studio development platform. + Experience with Agile Processes. + Experience building Power BI dashboards + Familiarity with Kirtland AFB test Ranges and the Technical Evaluation Assessment Monitor Site​​ (TEAMS) infrastructure. + Active DoD security clearance.
