Job Description:

Symantec Privileged Access Manager (Symantec PAM) defends and controls privileged users and the credentials they use to access and manage your digital infrastructure. It proactively enforces security policies and role-based limits on privileged user access—all while monitoring and recording privileged user activity across virtual, cloud and physical environments. Symantec PAM is a password vault—a proxy-based gateway that issues and manages passwords for privileged accounts. 

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our global engineering team supporting Symantec Privileged Access Manager. This role will serve as a key technical expert for Level 2 escalations, working closely with cross-functional teams across engineering and support to maintain product stability, performance and customer satisfaction.

As a member of the team, you will independently investigate and find resolution of complex production issues and drive improvements in support processes and product quality. 

Key Responsibilities:

Work on critical production issues in real-time, including log analysis, performance debugging, and system recovery. Be a technical leader at the core of a mission-critical enterprise security product

Lead the resolution of complex customer-reported issues escalated to L2, ensuring timely and high-quality fixes

Analyze root causes of recurring issues and drive long-term solutions or workarounds

Collaborate with passionate engineers, security experts and support teams to prioritize and implement fixes, patches and service packs

Participate in post-mortem reviews and develop knowledge base articles and best practices for internal teams

Participate in on-call rotations as necessary for critical customer issues

To qualify for this position, you must have:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering (or equivalent field) with 12+ years software development experience

Strong software development experience in building enterprise security products with deep knowledge of Identity and Access Management

Experience in collaborating with customers to understand their pain points and solve their problems

Hands-on experience with following technologies and concepts

Full Stack Development (Java backend Javascript, React frontend)

SSL, TLS, Certificates (PKI), RADUIS, LDAP

Docker and Kubernetes

Distributed Systems and Microservices Architecture

Problem solving and debugging skills

Vulnerability scanners and vulnerability management tools

To be successful, you bring:

Solid coding, system design skills and a collaborative mindset

Experience working with support (L1) and customers in troubleshooting production issues

Understanding of globally distributed enterprise product deployments and associated complexities

Experience in working with Unix/Linux/Windows operating systems

CI/CD experience using Jenkins, Git, Gradle 

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional global teams

Ability to contribute to all stages of Secure SDLC

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with global teams and customers

Familiarity with international support operations and follow-the-sun support models

This is an in-office position. You will be expected to work from the office full-time, Monday through Friday. Work location for this position is Hyderabad-India
