Earner & Vehicles (E+V) presents the supply side of the marketplace, serving the needs of drivers, couriers and fleet operators (collectively called Earners - 7M+ globally and increasing everyday) and empowering them to improve their earnings and have a delightful experience on Uber as the largest Gig Platform globally. E+V India engineering is responsible for building products and solutions that power this experience, through their onboarding and operational journey. These include Earner's onboarding and compliance, online experience on the Earner App, progression & loyalty constructs and fleet management (including EV & AV fleets). As an Staff Engineer in E+V, you will be working in one of these sub-areas, driving design and architecture of products & systems, leading engineering excellence initiatives and maintaining operational health of the underlying systems in perfect health, ensuring high availability and reliability. You will also be mentoring SSEs, SE-IIs and SEs working in your team. You will be taking guidance from Sr Staff Engs and collaborating with EMs from partner teams and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver your projects. **What  You'll Do:** 1. Design/architect, develop and/or test software applications using Uber's technology stack 2. Apply technical knowledge to evaluate complex development/projects and provide recommendations to resolve complex technical issues; 3. You'll be very close to business concerns, working alongside Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists and Operations team, to understand what's most important, and translating that to systems, designs, and code that best solves for today, as well as plans for tomorrow 4. You will build user-facing products - the work you do will impact every single Earner and operations. You will be responsible for the delivery of high quality products with fast iterations. **What  You'll Need:** 1. Grit, drive and a deep feeling of ownership. 2. Minimum 10+ years hands on experience in developing distributed computing systems at internet scale. 3. Good understanding of databases, messaging and system design for resiliency and reliability 4. Experience analysing a feature in production using analytics and experiments 5. Experience collaborating on projects and working efficiently as part of a team 6.
