Job Description

Responsibilities

We are looking for a talented Staff Software Engineer who will utilize a modern technology stack to update and maintain our internal core services. This role entails developing and acting as team lead across an engineering team composed of full stack developers, along with QA engineers.

This position reports to the Director of Engineering - Emerging Technologies. You will leverage your expertise in technology to meticulously select the latest technologies, architectural frameworks, and design patterns for implementation. Your role will involve providing visionary leadership and architectural direction along with the principal engineer to a dedicated team of engineers tasked with developing core services technologies that support our business.  You will also take a role in the development of those platforms.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, outcome-oriented, technology-focused engineer with extensive experience in acting as team lead - helping to drive designing, building, and supporting modern backend technologies. Additionally, they demonstrate a strong partnership with product teams, ensuring alignment between technological innovation and product development goals.

What you will do:

Lead mission-critical projects and deliver platform capabilities end-to-end with high qualityHave clear ownership of one or many products or platform spacesGet exposure to the partners and customers in different business domains, who will help provide feedback for your product spaceBuild and grow your engineering skills in different challenging areas and solve hard technical problemsInfluence architecture, technology selections, and trends of the whole companyCollaborate with team and peers to design complex applications, peer review code, and suggest optimizationEnable continuous deployment by championing quality engineering practices: linting, unit testing, e2e testing, pipeline automationCollaborate with and influence product teams to build and maintain design system standards, processes, and adoptionCreate reference implementations for the purpose of mentoring and leading more junior staff (when required)Help define engineering best practices and provide technical mentorshipInvestigate and resolve any production issues from end user (UI) to service layer and work to prevent themWork with project managers to ensure that all project deliverables are on time and high quality

Qualifications

Required Skills and Competencies:

10+ years of engineering experienceStrong communication and “storytelling” skills – ability to articulate a vision or concept in simple terms to a broad audience at every level.Role model and champion modern ways-of-working such as Agile, DevOps and related practices, actively participate in an engineering community.Thrive in fast-paced environments while architecting dependable solutions that scale effectivelyExpert with .NET from legacy Framework to CoreYou have a strong passion for new technologies and driving innovationDelivery of high quality & production ready code is high priority for youLearning technologies and expanding your skillset is always on your mindDemonstrates competent problem-solving skills (e.g. debugging, analysis and instrumentation) in a context beyond code they've writtenYou can take ownership of a large initiative and see it to completionAble to step back from a task and reassess size and complexity when appropriate

Compensation
