Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Work on a team in a fast-paced agile development environment designing/implementing cloud-based software using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure

Implement User Stories in GE UI tech Stack (Angular,NgRx, AG Grid etc) and Java by developing and enhancing applications following GE Digital's SDLC and Quality guidelines

Execute in a fast-paced delivery mode, working with the agile team to define sprint commitments and deliver on them.

Troubleshoot, debug and fix issues reported in existing software, addressing issues as presented and identifying/addressing underlying causes

Engage in technical discussions and design sessions proposing implementations for user stories and features considering scaling/computational complexity, maintainability, cohesion, and harmony with larger system

Apply and promote principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques

Solicit and provide peer review feedback on code and design, working to increase code quality and developer expertise.

Demonstrate ability to make informed technology choices after due diligence and impact assessment.

Be an expert in core data structures as well as algorithms and be able implement them using language of choice

Develop unit and automated tests to validate your software as it is developed and be able to access levels of testing required to meet quality goals.

Required Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with advanced experience.

Able to legally work in Mexico. This position can work remotely within Mexico.

Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.

UI developer with focus on front end

Experience with Angular, NgRx, typescript, dynamic CSS

Experience developing enterprise software

Desired Characteristics/Technical Expertise:

Familiarity with UI test automation particularly Katalon

Familiarity with UX principles

 Data modeling

Comfortable with Java programing and ability to work on back end

Experience working on software projects in the Energy domain (especially Bulk Power Energy Management)

Certified Scrum Master and/or Product Owner

Business Acumen:

• Strong problem solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments
• Experience in building scalable and highly available distributed systems
• Expert in breaking down problems and estimate time for development tasks
• Evangelizes how our technology solves customer problems from a technology and business perspective

Leadership:

• Ability to takes ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members

• Demonstrates clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions
• Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team
• Shares knowledge, power, and credit, establishing trust, credibility, and goodwill

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity
