Senior Software Systems Design Engineer
Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of software systems design standards, practices, and implementation in complex systems and assignments. This crucial role is responsible for improving and creating system design input for an existing system and all its potential future features and flows, significantly impacting our customer experience and overall business success.
Your Main Responsibilities:
Partner with business and software development teams to translate high-level business/customer requirements and user needs into clear and detailed software design specifications.
Interact with implementation teams to ensure delivered software features and solutions align with design specifications, providing guidance as necessary.
Participate in curation of a product backlog in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders, ensuring features are well-defined, estimated, and aligned with project goals.
Provide development teams with detailed design specifications that create clear direction for implementation efforts, based on collaboration with Product Management and System Architect, empowering external teams to work independently and effectively.
Demonstrate expertise in eliciting, evaluating, specifying, and validating the behaviors and workflows of complex software systems. Ensure that requirements are well-written, testable, traceable, and aligned with business goals and customer needs.
Who You Are:
You have demonstrated software systems design subject matter expertise and strong systems thinking proficiency - With strong skills with systems design standards such as UML, SysML, BPMN, API Design, wireframing, data modeling, and associated software system design tools.
Ability to understand business requirements and customer needs and translate them into software design input managing expectations when balancing design alternatives between business and technical constraints.
Proficient in expert practices for requirements management, systems design, user experience development, and usability.
Mentors others in requirements definition, human factor considerations, systems design, user-experience, customer-centric design thinking, and system usability.
You are creative, collaborative, and possess strong critical thinking skills with passion about leveraging your unique skills making a difference in the lives of those around you and in the world. You also have strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams with the ability to mentor and lead teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, psychological safety, and inclusion.
