The Software Test Engineer will be responsible for developing and executing test plans to ensure the quality and functionality of our software products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking technologies, particularly Ethernet, TCP/IP, and Fibre Channel, as well as proficiency in Python and test automation frameworks. The role requires a collaborative team player who can work closely with development and QA teams to deliver robust and reliable software solutions. Knowledge of cloud-based application testing is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for software products.

Implement, enhance, and maintain automated test scripts using Python.

Perform testing on Ethernet, TCP/IP, and Fibre Channel networking protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements and develop appropriate test strategies.

Identify, document, and track software defects using bug-tracking tools like Atlassian/JIRA and Tricentis/qTest.

Conduct regression, performance, and stress/scale testing to ensure software stability and performance.

Analyze test results, identify issues, and provide detailed feedback to development teams.

Continuously improve test processes and methodologies to enhance test efficiency and effectiveness.

Stay current with industry trends and advancements in testing technologies and best practices.

Maintain test equipment that includes both Hardware and Software.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on networking technologies.

Strong understanding of IP and Fibre Channel protocols.

Proficiency in Python programming language and experience with test automation frameworks.

Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools and processes.

Knowledge of other programming languages (e.g., Java and scripting languages).

Knowledge of VMware products like vCenter, Aria Ops, and Cloud Services is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $119,000 - $190,000

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
