Leidos' Defense Systems Sector has an immediate opening for a Staff Solution Architect with radar systems and sensor technology experience to join our Land Systems team in Huntsville, AL.

In this role, you will work with subject matter experts to conceptualize, develop, and propose differentiating Leidos solutions for active radar, persistent surveillance, air defense, counter UAS, and other Land Systems applications. You will communicate the value and benefits of Leidos’ systems and capabilities to current and potential customers explaining technical features and value to their missions.  You will develop and review white papers and formal proposals, help develop product strategies and roadmaps, create solution presentations, and assist in program planning, cost estimation, and execution.

Primary Responsibilities:

Use expertise in radar and sensor technology to analyze customer requirements and mission needs to understand and identify, define, and propose Land Systems and Leidos solutionsUnderstand applicable Land Systems and broader Leidos technology to create innovative, discriminated, collaborative solutions to meet market and customer needsSupport internal research and development projectsDevelop white papers, formal proposals, and presentations to effectively communicate the value of Land Systems solutions to customers, leading those efforts as requiredSupport internal and external meetings and presentationsParticipate in reviews of white papers, formal proposals, and presentationsLead or participate in program planning, cost estimation, and risk assessments.Participate in program leadership or execution roles as required.Participate in business process and technical reviewsIn coordination with leadership, develop technology and solution roadmaps for Land Systems solutionsBuild understanding of applicable competitor and teammate technologies

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in an applicable Engineering discipline with 17+ years of experience related to development engineering, systems engineering, or technical program management. Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degreeExperience as a solution architect and/or technical volume lead on captures and proposalsExcellent written and oral communication skills with experience articulating complex technical concepts to customers, business development, program teams, technical teams, and executives, both orally and in writingShould have at least 5 years' experience with radar, air and missile defense, counter UAS, or related systemsExperience in understanding customer needs, deriving requirements, and applying technology to create conceptual solutionsProficient with MS Office productsUS citizen with an ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to work effectively in a team environment with other highly skilled individualsExpertise and experience in radar systemsExperience applying digital engineering principlesExperience applying open architecture principlesExperience in evaluating and working with partners and subcontractorsExperience in engineering team leadership or technical program managementExperience with proposals for Other Transaction Authority and FAR based contractsUnderstanding of formal risk management and cost estimation processesActive Secret Clearance or higher

Pay Range:Pay Range $148,850.00 - $269,075.00
