Job Summary/Overview:

As a Senior Supplier Engineer, Manufacturing you will function as an integral member of a development team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating manufacturing solutions for Direct Material component and assembly manufacturing processes and ensuring scale-up of robust manufacturing solutions to support long-term production. This role will work both internally and externally to develop Johnson and Johnson’s next generation of Robotic Digital Solutions and may help mentor/develop junior engineers.

Duties Responsibilities:Own and deliver the development, characterization, and validation of mechanical and/or electrical components and sub-assembly processes at outside suppliers for new product development (NPD) projects within the Robotics and Digital Solutions franchise.Lead the scale-up of supplier manufacturing processes to production quantities.Work in a design team setting, collaborating with multi-functional teams (represented by Manufacturing Engineering, RD, Purchasing, Quality, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Finance) by providing technical solutions to direct material component manufacturing and assembly processes that are optimized for manufacturing, product performance, and cost.Analyze and resolve manufacturing issues related to design, quality, and functionality of Direct Material component and sub-assembly processes throughout the NPD process.Identify, manage, and provide priorities and direction to external suppliers to satisfy manufacturing and development requirements for tooling, manufacturing, and inspections of direct material components.Responsible for ensuring robust requirements' cascade from Design to Supplier.Resolve systemic supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery, or lead-time, which may include engagement with sub-tiers in the supply chain.

California Bay Area - The anticipated base pay range for this position is 105000 to 169050.The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year.
