Position Title: Staff Software Applications EngineerThis Staff Software Applications Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, debugging, integration, and testing of software applications used in support of Wireless Access Point. The work responsibilities will include: Design software and create software design documents.Roles and Responsibilities:Design and develop software on Access point for our market verticalsContribute to functional specifications and product definitionsDesign/Develop software independently and rapidly in an Agile environmentDevelop unit test strategy/programs for software that you developStrong desire to learn new tools and technology is an absolute mustSkills:Bachelor's or graduate degree in computer science or engineering.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.5 -15+ years of experience in embedded software development.Experience with Wireless networks products.Good knowledge of WLAN protocols, network technology, Wi-Fi /TCP&IP stack/L2 Switching/L3 Routing etc.In-depth understanding of Linux operating systems and embedded software developmentExpert programming knowledge in C/C+.Ability to be productive in a flexible and dynamic work environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsSelf-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities. Experience with Agile development processAutomated testing using PytestPreferred Experience WLAN protocols.Network technology, TCP&IP stack/L2 Switching/L3 Routing etc.Expert programming knowledge in C/C+.A quick learner with excellent communication skillsTenacious in your approach to problem solving.Highly productive with minimal supervision$150,000 - $185,000 a yearAbove range would be a base salary, additionally there would be a performance bonusSalary is commensurate based on years of experienceExtreme Networks, Inc.
