Role Summary As the Staff System & SW Quality Engineer within the Rivian Volkswagon Joint Venture, you will play a crucial role in creating and optimizing the SW testing framework and ensuring consistency companywide. You will help identify SW quality metrics and guidelines using the first-principle mindset by referring to industry standards. Beyond testing, this role will contribute to the enhancement of automation tools and infrastructure to support testing scalability. This role focuses on quality vs quanity- you will help define and communicate what is the criteria of the quality SW for the entire Joint Venture. Responsibilities Lead the creation and optimization of SW testing framework Lead the cross functional discussion to ensure the consistency of testing ecosystem Optimize the SW testing regression strategy and proper test environment (SIL, HIL, Unit) Ensure the end to end traceability of requirement, code and test cases Create test guidelines and best practices Create the work flow to track the proper execution of testing activities Develop the test metrics and code metrics for SW Lead the static code analysis including identifying SW Tool, rule sets, evaluate test results Evaluate the test results and work with SW developers to root cause failed test cases Generate test report to support the OTA release sign off Qualifications Over 5 years of SW development experience within the automotive or equivalent industries Familiar with industry standards like ISO 26262, ASPICE, MISRA etc. Experience in system engineering practices such as requirements authoring, failure analysis and test development Experience in developing automotive software testing framework Experience in developing automotive software in C/ C++ Experience with requirements management tools (e.g. JAMA.), issue tracking tools (Jira), SW version control tools (e.g. Git, Bitbucket, SVN, etc.) Experience with agile software development process Degree education in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science Good interpersonal and communication skills with a high level of integrity Experience working within a cross-functional team Proven experience working on multiple projects Strong team player; drive to exceed expectations and meet deadlines Pay Disclosure Salary Range for Irvine, California Based Applicants: $171,000 - $213,900 per year (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law). Salary Range for Palo Alto, California Based Applicants: $186,000 - $232,500 per year (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
