**TITLE:** Staff Test Engineer
**HOURS:** Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
**DUTIES:** • Work as business analyst for genomic science software and instrument business needs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders for requirements gathering and analysis for new software and Instrument platform.
• Document and maintain product requirements, specifications and trace matrix in document management tools.
• Derive product requirements from customer wants and customer feedback.
• Conduct software risk analysis, define user workflows, and contribute to software user interface design.
• Maintain software and instrument product backlog.
• Consult with researchers and subject matter experts to analyze problems, recommend technology-based solutions, or determine computational strategies.
• Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to different stakeholder.
• Collaborate with algorithm and quality assurance functions to strategize logical verification of the product.
• Complete ownership of logical verification of the developed module from informatics domain point of view.
• Innovate and broaden product offerings by analyzing competing products in digital and qPCR domain.
• Process, analyze, and interpret experimental datasets derived from research, by employing data analysis principles for workflow functional verification.
• Analyze algorithm performance by evaluating results and application output.
**REQUIREMENTS:** MINIMUM Education Requirement: Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, Genomics, or related field of study. MINIMUM Experience Requirement: 6 years of experience as a system/business/Bioinformatics analyst, Bioinformatics tester, or related experience. Alternative Education and Experience Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, Genomics, or related field of study plus 8 years of experience as a system/business/Bioinformatics analyst, Bioinformatics tester, or related experience.
Required knowledge or experience with:
• Genomics principles and applications, data analysis principles and Bioinformatics tools;
• Algorithm testing for analysis pipelines including genetic data analysis and Variant Interpretation;
• Concepts related to Thermal cycling, Reagent and primers chemistry, digital PCR, qPCR or RT-qPCR, Multiplex-PCR, or Biological applications of PCR;
• QSR design controls (21 CFR 820), ISO 13485, IEC 62304, ISO 14971 and IVD product development experience;
• PERL, Python (Pandas, or NumPy), Linux or Unix (Bash scripting) and R programming (basics), Shell scripting, HTML and API Testing;
• SQL, Oracle and MySQL;
• Embedded Systems testing;
• Software development best practices and Software development processes;
• Project development models (Scrum, Agile, or Waterfall methodologies);
• Software testing principles and Project management tools (HPALM, or DNG);
• Defect and document tracking tools;
• Product Commercialization Process (PCP);
• End user training experience; and
• Experience writing business requirement documents.
Salary: $148727.88 to $158500 per year

**Compensation and Benefits**
The salary pay range estimated for this position Staff Engineer, Software based inCalifornia is $148,727.88–$158,500.00.
