Responsibilities The Staffing Specialist performs functions that specifically support the nursing division to ensure optimal workflow regarding staffing, schedules, patient bed placement, and reports related to regulatory compliance. Prepare staffing and scheduling reports for nursing units as requested Make appropriate scheduling changes in the Workforce Management program Ensure Per Diem/PRN staff fulfill their commitment obligation Prepare staffing report for current schedule, ensuring call-outs are up to date Answer phones and assist nursing team members in a professional, courteous manner Timely and accurately track any cost center changes made to staff schedules Assist in obtaining replacement staff when needed to ensure optimal staffing levels and appropriate utilization of staff resources Timely and accurately update the schedules to reflect any/all call-outs Ensure various announcements are being communicated in a timely fashion Work collaboratively with other Staffing Specialists to ensure that required reports are completed and submitted promptly Bed planning/Bed Management - assist/facilitate patient placement and patient transfers on units Work collaboratively with nursing supervisor, managers, and directors of nursing units on daily staffing plans, based on the established matrix, unit census, and staff availability Perform any other clerical duties as assigned Qualifications Job Requirements: High School diploma or equivalency Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a medical office/hospital environment. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suit Preferred Job Requirements: Previous bed management and staffing experience
