POSITION SUMMARY:
The Stage & Events Choreographer create dance routines for a variety of performers, to entertain at live shows, and events. It requires planning the whole performance, from teaching the steps to the dancers to working with costume designers and directors to achieve the desired outcome.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Develops ideas and creates routines to produce a several well-polished, nightly performance.Supports, guides, and explains all steps and formations to dancers; runs rehearsals.Ensures studio or venue is available for rehearsal and that dancers have been notified in a timely mannerConducts research such as watching dance shows, attending performances, and reading up on different routines to keep our content relevantIdentifies ways to accurately tie in creative content with COD & and/or sponsor branding, mood, time and location of performance etcDiscuss ideas and plans with producers, costume designers, and musical and artistic directorsChooses music suitable for the concept or subject you have been tasked withFor some forms of dance, you may be required to record the steps using a notation system, such as Labanotation or BeneshWorks with other professionals to choreograph fight scenes or theatrical stuntsBe able to works on more than one show at a timeMeets regularly with producers, musical and artistic directors, and costume designersSupports the administrative staff in the rostering and management and time management of the dancersAble to stand in as a dancer to cover annual leave/ sick leave/ other unexpected eventsQUALIFICATIONS:
Requirements & Qualifications
High school diplomaDegree in fine arts or similar and advantageExtensive dancing skills and experienceChoreographing/ Dancing in a Casino-show environment an advantagePassion for dance and working with other creativesStrong interpretive and creative thinking skillsExcellent attention to detail, time management skills, and work ethicSuperb interpersonal, collaborative, and communication abilitiesProficient in both English and GreekPERSONAL COMPETENCIES:
